Racing
under
lights.

Nightshift takes over Murarrie for one night only. Fast racing, loud corners, food, drinks, music, and the kind of trackside energy usually missing from local crits.

On Saturday, 20 June, we're turning Brisbane's home of criterium racing into an after-dark race night for riders, spectators, friends, families, and anyone who thinks cycling is better when it gets a little less sensible.

The Schedule

Racing builds as the sun drops. The best grades hit the circuit when the venue is loudest — under lights, in the dark.

Murarrie
Criterium
Track

Brisbane's purpose-built closed-circuit home for fast racing. No road closures. Purpose-built for criteriums. Strong spectator visibility. Space for the full event village.

The challenge is making Murarrie feel different. The site gets dressed, lit, and activated — so it doesn't just feel like a regular crit night with a banner on the fence.

Venue FAQ
Event Village

More than
a crit night.

01 ·
Food & Drink
2–3 food vendors. Burgers, tacos, pizza, coffee, and cold drinks. Easy to eat trackside. A licensed area if permits allow.
02 ·
Music & MC
A DJ setting the tone from warm-up into night racing. Not nightclub. Not Triple M. A sharp MC who can explain the racing, build hype, and keep the schedule moving.
03 ·
Merch & Retail
Limited Nightshift Brisbane merch drop. Event tee, socks, cap, and select kit. Black. Pixel type. Brisbane stamped. Tour-merch energy, not race-meet energy.
04 ·
Lighting
Track-safe racing lights. Feature lighting at the start/finish. Electric blue and green accents. The night shift starts when the sun drops.
05 ·
Spectators
Free to watch. Bring mates, family, noise, and questionable advice. Trackside viewing. Loud corners. Friends heckling politely from the fence.
06 ·
Prizes
Equal prize money for Men's A and Women's A podiums. Cash, vouchers, and partner product for lower grades. Prime laps throughout. Best attack prize.

Yes. Riders will need the appropriate AusCycling race licence or event licence, depending on the final sanctioning setup. Details will be confirmed in the entry process via EntryBoss.
Yes. Enter D Grade / Intro Crit. Riders should be confident riding in a bunch and holding their line in traffic. If that sounds like you, you'll be fine.
